Nashville, Tenn. may be called the Music City, but I believe I've had my best music experience in Austin, Texas. Maybe it's because I'm not necessarily a fan of country. Maybe it's because I was mesmerized with Austin in general. In fact, I found out that everything what people told me about this city before I went there was true. It is a truly unique place with such variety of food, natural beauty and of course - music. A total package.
Today I wanted to go back to my Austin Travel Diary and share with you my best musical memories. There have been many more, so I narrowed my choices to three must see places/events/performers.
BLUES ON THE GREEN
Free summer music series hosted by KGSR Austin Radio since 1991. It's held in Zilker Park
(Barton Springs - another hot spot in Austin!).
No better way to spend your evening than with a great company of your friends and music! You bring your blanket, tent, chairs whatever you wish + beer and snacks and you're all set! Plus, there is a huge possibility you'll get to experience something more - a beautiful sunset

THE PETERSON BROTHERS
First of all, you absolutely have to hit the Rainey Street when you're in Austin. It is packed with history, great music and food (hello food trucks!) Oh, and THE PEOPLE!
We were originally heading to see one particular band that night (more info about them below), but beforehand, we casually stepped into one bar/restaurant with the loud music coming out of the place.
Little did we know, The Peterson Brothers were on stage!
If you want to learn more about this insanely talented - teenage - funky - smooth - type of blues - brother duo (who used to open for big performers such as B.B.King or Lisa Marie Presley!),

The Blackheart is THE place to be! Thursdays nights especially!
When you're in need of more funk, soul, jazz, worry no more. ROXY ROCA will rock your boots/shoes/sandals/flats off! These guys are a hit not only in Austin but all over the South. The band is constantly on tour, so I'm more than sure you'll get plenty of opportunities to catch one of their shows! And they are to die for! I'm talking from the experience, we loved the band so much we had to see them twice!
