CHICAGO TRAVEL DIARY: Oak Street Beach

If Ohio Street Beach wasn't enough for you (more about it in the last post HERE), you can still find a couple more beaches on the shore of Lake Michigan. Our next hangout spot happened to be Oak Street Beach. It is located only a short walk North from Ohio Street Beach. You can either rent a DIVVY bike (Lakefront Trail is a perfect place to get some workout in) or just rely on your good ol' legs and hike it up. It's a pretty scenic walk. Skyscrapers on your left, vast Lake Michigan on your right. You can also take breaks and admire yachts and boats floating on the water, although I wouldn't recommend it. It will only make you jealous that those people on motorboats have even better views...

                                                                                  heading North                                heading South
John Hancock Center. The legend says, you can go on the top of the building (free admission) to enjoy some drinks and a 360° view of the city. Also, if you go to the Ladies room, the view is supposedly even better from there :)
Only a short walk in the sun, but stopping by this beach bar seemed like we found an oasis on a desert.
Side note: oasis was not wallet friendly. Location, location, location....
Definitely bigger than Ohio Street Beach, more crowded, but that beach bar...
'Make life one long weekend' - couldn't agree more!
Couldn't resist but dance on the sand.... then we even...

Have a great weekend!
