I moved to America over three years ago, which means I got to dress up for Halloween just as many times. Today I wanted to reminisce about those fun times, and show you my old costumes. Hopefully, this post will inspire you if you're still looking for an outfit... Halloween is just 5 short days away!
My first Halloween was just two months after my move, so I went with something simple and classic. I think everybody has been a flapper at least once in their life before, haha. It's a great last minute outfit idea. All you need is a dress, hopefully with some nice embellishments and flares on the bottom. Then accessories: head piece. long gloves and the pipe for a cigarette. I also added a black boa. Have fun with your hair and makeup!
The following year, I decided it's time to go big or go home, literally! As you can see I was a Big Bird and had so much fun planning my costume. My talented handy friend helped me with some sewing and designing, I definitely couldn't do it without her! If you're interested, I've got a whole detailed tutorial for you HERE. Needless to say, my Big Bird costume was a hit, I was even featured on LaurenConrad.comfor their Halloween edition (very proud moment for me!)
Last year I wanted to go with something funny. I had this yellow leftover corset and was brainstorming ideas. I originally bought it for my Big Bird costume but decided to go with something else. The bright yellow corset turned out to be a perfect piece for my road worker/constructor costume. Slippery when wet was just a fun touch and it definitely got a lot of attention!
This year, I decided to wear all black... any ideas who I might be?
Please share me your costume ideas, I'd love to hear!
If I'm not wearing black, you can usually find me in nude tones. As I get older, I appreciate more of a softer palette and classic colors... If I could, I would probably wear grey every day though. It's funny how it seems to be the most interesting 'color' to me...
Today's look is both elegant and casual. You could easily switch heels to Converse sneakers and go about your day just fine. As you can probably already tell, I'm obsessed with this midi jean skirt from BLUE FAITH DENIM, as it's the second time I styled it in a month. You can see my other take on it HERE.
The printed tee is from JEXSHOP, a super affordable store where everybody can find something for themselves. I'm super happy with this t-shirt, it's actually softer and more comfortable than I expected it to be, and so versatile.
As for these Forever 21 mules (best summer purchase), I think it's obvious I'm trying to wear them as much as possible before it gets too cold! Those are just too damn fabulous to put them away just yet, and they happened to go perfectly with this look.
Black and animal print must be one of my favorite (and safest) combinations ever. You can never go wrong with a little pop of leopard in my book, especially, if you pair it with black, burgundy or grey.
Today's outfit maybe doesn't necessarily scream fall, hence the crop top and open toe shoes, but I had to share it because it's perfect for those who love comfort. I don't know any other pants that are more comfortable than these from Forever 21. I'm also obsessed with this leopard print crop top from DRESSGAL because of the material! I already can't wait for summer to be back so I can re-wear it million different ways!
Trench coats and stripes seem to be everyone's favorite combination, especially when we're talking fall. No surprise there, it's a simple, classic pairing that will never go out of style.
If you remember my DRESSGAL wishlist from summer (see ithere), you might recognize both of those pieces. I've been recently filling up my closet with basics, and I'm pretty sure this little striped dress and the trench coat will become my new staples for years to come.
***Also, you can't beat the price (under $20 for both!), and the surprisingly good quality.

I have recently mentioned I often work with the wedding photographer in my area, and let me tell you, every day is so inspiring when you share the same passion with somebody! Although I'm nowhere close to getting married any time soon, I still like to browse different photos on Pinterest and dream about my big (small ceremony?) day. I already wrote a post about engagement rings (you can read it here), so naturally, now it's time for some beautiful gowns!
Today I partnered with landybridal to bring you my top three choices from their wedding collection. I'm usually all about simplicity, but I gotta say I'm currently swooning over the beautiful detailing because of their pieces!
I don't know if it's thanks to this beautiful model, but I'm seriously loving these lace wedding dresses. I think my favorite gowns ever are the well-fitted/ skin tight ones. Even though they might not be the most comfortable, they are oh.So.dreamy.
